My Story
Morrie Schmidt is a registered nurse currently working in the emergency department at Duke Regional, and he is excited to bring his expertise to Activate Fitness & Wellness as a trainer and wellness coach. Morrie’s experience in weightlifting, running, boxing, and tennis has equipped him with the knowledge and skills to guide clients through a wide range of fitness goals, from strength building to improving endurance.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Michigan, which has deepened his understanding of health and wellness from both a medical and holistic perspective. Morrie is passionate about developing strong, supportive relationships with his clients, as he believes that trust and communication are key to achieving lasting health transformations.
In addition to his medical background, Morrie has extensive knowledge of the social determinants of health, including nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle. He uses this knowledge to help clients not only improve their physical health but also avoid chronic illness. His focus is on helping individuals find balance in their lives—living, working, and playing—so they can achieve sustainable well-being that enhances every aspect of their day-to-day lives.
Morrie’s mission is to empower people to make healthier choices and find a wellness routine that works for them, improving both their physical and mental health along the way. Whether you’re overcoming a health challenge or striving to become your best self, Morrie is dedicated to guiding you toward a healthier future.
